Road quality evaluation with mobile devices Today, a number of new technologies such as smart mobile phones, social networks and wireless sensor networks facilitate the implementation of new types of applications and services. This paper analyzes the feasibility of a road evaluation system based on the data voluntarily supplied by a social network of car drivers. The main idea behind the proposed solution is to use the sensorial, communication and processing capabilities of mobile devices (e.g. smart phones) in order to collect information about the quality of different road sections.
